Thermal Printing invoices
Hi,
We have tried for quite a while now to manipulate the current templating system (iText) to provide a practical and professional result, but without success.
It cannot produce a continuous stream so it limits printout to 4 line items per label (we would like to not use sticky labels and use a reel of paper instead). This a) leaves a big gap at the bottom of each label and b) due to the nature of of printing order, the first page is at the bottom when someone is holding a long order which has printed on more than 1 label.
It does not handle footers well (see above). Footers are needed in professional looking invoices so that information, such as company reg number and address, returns policy and address, etc are provided to the customer.
A solution that manages to solve the current issues will be of great value as it will reduce the amount of waiting a picker has to do in front of an A4 printer that takes up to 10seconds to spool one order. It will also eliminate the constant expense of ink and letterheaded paper.
Some quick math shows that if an invoice takes 10 seconds to load, and you have 240 orders to pick a day, then the picker loses 40 mins of his shift a day just tapping their fingers.
